joingg.cc publishes writing about video games: news, reviews, features and analysis. It is written and run by one person, Sergei, who writes as SweetMask.
By reading the site you accept the terms below. They are short, and they are meant to be read rather than skipped.
joingg.cc is a sibling of joingg.co, a game server directory run by the same person. The two are separate sites and each has its own terms. These ones cover joingg.cc only.
A review is one person's judgement about a game. A feature is an argument. An analysis piece is an interpretation of things that happened, and reasonable people disagree about most of them. Read it that way.
Reporting here is written to be accurate and checked where checking is possible. Even so, no promise is made that any of it is correct, complete or current. Games change constantly. Release dates move, prices change, patches rebalance the thing a review was about, servers shut down, and a publisher can contradict its own announcement a week later. An article describes what was true when it was written.
Nothing here is professional advice of any kind. If you are about to spend money on the strength of something you read on this site, check the current details with the publisher or the store first.
If an article gets a fact wrong, I want to know. Send it through the contact form, with a source if you have one, and it will be corrected.
Articles link out to stores, publishers, patch notes, videos and other people's writing. Those sites belong to other people. I do not control what they contain, and a link is not an endorsement of the site, its owner, its products or its opinions. Once you follow a link you are covered by that site's terms and its privacy policy, not by mine.
The articles on joingg.cc, along with their headlines, original images and the design of the site, are my work and are protected by copyright. All rights are reserved except for the ones given below.
What you may do without asking. Quote a short extract, up to a paragraph or so, for the purpose of reporting, review, criticism or discussion, as long as you say clearly that it came from joingg.cc and link to the original article. Link to anything here freely. Use the RSS feed to read the site or to follow it in a reader.
What needs permission first. Republishing an entire article or a substantial part of one, translating an article in full, posting the text to another site or forum in place of a link, reusing images, or republishing feed items as full articles somewhere else. Ask through the contact form. The answer is often yes.
What is not allowed. Presenting this writing as your own, removing the attribution, or copying the site wholesale. Articles may not be used as training data for machine learning systems without permission.
Game titles, logos, character names, box art, screenshots, and the names of the companies that make and publish games are the property and, where registered, the trademarks of their respective owners. They appear on this site to identify and illustrate the games being written about, for the purpose of criticism, review and reporting.
Where an article shows a screenshot or a promotional image from a game, the rights in that image stay with its owner. If you hold rights in something published here and you object to its use, use the contact form and tell me which article, and I will deal with it.
joingg.cc is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to any game publisher, developer, platform holder or storefront. Nothing here is official. No publisher approves what is written about its games before it goes up.
If an article is ever paid for, or produced on terms a publisher attached to something it supplied, that article will say so plainly at the top of it.
No advertising currently runs on joingg.cc. If ads start running in future, they will be supplied by an advertising network, Google AdSense in the first instance, and the network chooses which ads to show. An ad appearing beside an article is not a recommendation of the advertiser by me, and it does not mean the advertiser has any say in what the article says. What advertising would mean for your data is set out in the privacy policy.
There is nothing to sign up for here. No accounts, no comments, no user profiles, which means there is no user content on this site and no rules about it are needed. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
Two requests about how you use the server:
Automated access is fine at a polite rate. Feed readers, search crawlers and researchers are welcome, and the site publishes a sitemap and an RSS feed to make that easier. Clients that request pages fast enough to degrade the site for its readers may be slowed down or blocked, and that decision is mine to make.
Do not try to break, overload or gain access to parts of the server that are not published. There is nothing interesting back there.
This is one person and one server. The site may be unavailable, articles may be edited after publication, and articles may be taken down. No guarantee is made that the site, any article or any URL will keep working, though URLs are kept stable where it is within my power.
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, I accept no liability for loss or damage arising from the use of it, from reliance on anything published here, or from anything you find on a site linked from here.
Nothing in this section removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in. Where that law gives you something these terms try to take away, the law wins.
When these terms change the date at the top of the page changes with them. Using the site after that means the current version applies. There is no notification list; the date is the notice.
